WOMEN & ENGINES – JOYS AND PAINS
After years of absence, Dante, son of Italian emigrants, returns home to Berlin. There he confronts his father about his decision to run away. Their conversation escalates into a fight.
However, the father persuades Dante to stay with Carlotta, Dante’s old motorbike that he took care of. Unable to resist, Dante decides to stay.
The next day, Dante contemplates suicide while working on his novel. He doesn’t fully understand the meaning of this gesture so he decides to go somewhere where he can sense it. He rides Carlotta to a place where he can look death in the eye.
On his way, the motorcycle breaks down and Dante pulls over. By the roadside, a woman with a flat tire is trying to call a taxi. It is Nadine, Dante’s ex-girlfriend.
Dante has to decide whether to retake his path or make himself recognised and maybe offer Nadine a ride.
